Kathy Stokes, director of fraud prevention at AARP, says “Fraud is at a crisis level in this country.” Awareness is key to prevention. Research shows that if a person is aware of a specific scam, they’re 80% less likely to engage with it. And, even if they do engage, they are 40% less likely to lose money or sensitive information, according to the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. That’s why F&M State Bank is going to be hosting THREE FREE seminars on fraud prevention on May 22, June 5 and June 26 in Pierz, Sauk Rapids and Eden Valley, respectively.
